1985 Brisbane Rugby League Rothmans Medal

Wynnum Manly and Queensland rugby league back-rower Ian French, became only the second Wynnum-Manly player since the awards inception, to win the coveted Rothmans Medal.  French, won the award by one point in an exciting finish to the count over Brothers centre Tim Dwyer. The result was in doubt until votes were presented for the last two matches of the season.
