Miss Cherie Hogan of Wynnum North has been crowned this years Miss Wynnum Manly, in a very close contest with Miss Donna Smith of Wynnum West.

The gala evening was held at the Wynnum Manly League Club before 300 attendees, with celebrations taking place well into the night.

Both ladies have been huge supporters of the club and worked tirelessly over the past few months, Miss Smith did not go home empty handed winning Miss Wynnum Manly Rugby League Charity award.

Miss Hogan is an employee of the Manly Hotel, whilst Miss Smith is a hairdresser at The Subet Hair Salon in Wynnum.

The three main catergories the contestants were judged upon was fund raising for the club, personality and their knowledge of Wynnum Manly Rugby League.

Judges Margaret Cork from the Wynnum Manly Juniors and State Member of Parliament for Capalaba Jim Elder said it was a very difficult decision, as both contestants excelled in all three categories.

Miss Hogan and Miss Smith were presented with bespoke Wynnum Manly Seagulls gold necklaces compliments of Jim McCarthy, a long time sponsor of the club.  The club extends our thanks to all parties.

Miss Hogan then attended the Miss Brisbane Rugby League dinner as the Wynnum Manly representative held at a Lang Park, accompanied to the event by Wynnum Manly first grade player Craig Greenhill.
