1959 – 1968 The marvellous career of Lionel Morgan

Lionel Morgan joined the Wynnum Manly Football Club from the Tweed All Blacks in 1959, the year Wynnum Manly won it’s first ever trophy “The President Cup”. 

Morgan was the first indigenous player to represent Australia against France in 1960.

He played in over 150 First Grade Matches for the Wynnum Manly Club and still holds the try scoring record for six tries in one match against Souths in 1964 at Davies Park.
