An Egg Sticker (TV Stars) launched after the success of the BRL Series
In 1976, the Sunny Queen Egg company devised a marketing strategy to include a Brisbane Rugby League player sticker within each egg carton. These collectable stickers were only available to the South East Queensland market.
It was such a success for the company that they would utilise the skills of well known artist William Ellis Green (WEG), who was also known for drawing the AFL premiership posters from 1954 to 2008.
Some of the series that were made available to collectors were I’m an Egg, Eggpeditions in History, TV Stars, Wild West, Famous Eggs, The Eggles Family and many more.
The original series that was launched into the market was a set of eight cards celebrating the Brisbane Rugby League, the players represented in the set are as follows:
- Bruce McLeod (Valleys), 2. Bruce Warwick (Norths), 3.David Wright (Brothers). 4. Des Lange (Souths), 5.Harry Cameron (Wests), 6. John Lang (Easts), 7.Lew Platz (Wynnum), 8. Steve Williams (Redcliffe)
