The Wynnum Manly district had plenty to cheer about when the Brisbane Rugby League team took on Balmain in the National Panasonic Cup match played at Leichhardt Oval in Sydney in April 1985.
The Seagulls were there in strength with eight players and the Coach Des Morris, turning out for the Brisbane squad in the mid-week competition. This was certainly an outstanding achievement for any club and the entire Wynnum Manly region waited eagerly for Wednesday nights telecast.
